Tables
Tables are slightly different from other element types in that you have setting options within the table itself as well as in the Properties Panel. Each column and row header has a settings cog on the right side from which various table cell options can be accessed.
.
Table cell options
As well as options to insert or remove columns/rows, the type of entry for the column/row can be specified. The default is Text and other options include:
- Date - user selects date via date picker
- Number - supports any numerical entry including decimal points and negatives
- Time - supports entry of Hours and Minutes
Note that options will become unavailable if the row/column contains cells that have already had a different Type selected.
When Number or Time has been selected, the 'Auto Sum' option will become available under Column/Row Options. Selecting this option will add a cell to the end of the Column/Row, within which a sum total for the Column/Row will appear. Additonal entries to the cells will be reflected in the total.
.
Table auto sum
For Auto Sum Columns/Rows the 'Contributes to...' option also becomes available. When this option is selected, the Column/Row total will automatically be added to the 'Activity log hours/points' entry in the Information Panel for the Asset. When this option is selected an icon will appear to the left of the Column/Row title to indicate that the total is contributing to the Activity log hours/points.
.
Contribute to Activity Log hours/points
TIP!
If the 'Contribute to ...' option is selected, the user will NOT be able to adjust hours/points manually in the Information Panel for this asset.
If multiple tables, columns and/or rows are set to contribute to the asset's hours/points, these values will be added together. This applies for a single page template or a multi-page workbook.
When templates and workbooks with this option enabled are added to Activity Logs, the contributing values, as totalled in the Information Panel, will be deducted from the Activity Log target.
Reporting of Auto Sum totals and Activity Log hours/points is available via ATLAS. See the ATLAS help entry on Reporting on Activity for more information.
