PebblePad is running very slowlypeb Over time the memory resources used by some web browsers can cause slow operation. Try restarting your computer to clear the memory and logging in to PebblePad again to see if this improves the situation. Ensure no background applications or downloads are running as this will consume CPU resources and internet bandwidth. Also check that you have the latest updates available for your browser. Alternatively it could be that the PebblePad server at this particular time is extremely busy, especially during specific deadline times/dates. |
Are there any size limitations when uploading a file into Pebble+ ?size, uploading, files, limitationpeb There are no size limitations when uploading a file into Pebble+, unless any have been set by your university or organisation. All files are compressed and formatted during the upload process. It is important to note that very large files may take a long time to upload, especially if you are on a slow internet connection. Sometimes the upload process will timeout before it is complete. If this happens you will need to go through the upload steps again and perhaps move to a better internet connection.
It is always better, where possible, to reduce the size of your file before uploading. This will make the upload process more efficient for you and will make it easier for anyone you share with to download and view your files. |
Are there any size limitations when uploading a photo or video from the app to my PebblePad account?pebblepocket, app, mobile, upload, files, video, size, limitationpeb There are no size limitations when sending photos and videos to your PebblePad account, unless any have been set by your university or organisation.
Note: Photo and video assets are compressed and formatted during the process. Large assets may take a long time to send especially if you have a slow internet connection. It is always better, where possible, to send your assets when you have a strong and stable internet connection. |
Can an external assessor change their password?external assessor, passwordpeb YES! An external assessor can use the ''Forgotten your password?'' and ''Change your password'' links on the login page in the same way as any other user can.
An ATLAS Global Administrator can also reset an external assessor password on their behalf by going into Organisation > Externals. |
Can data in PebblePad be archived?archivepeb YES! Any ATLAS workspace can be archived at the completion of activity. This creates a version of the workspace that can be viewed but not edited. All submissions, including assessment, resources, conversations, and other associated material are preserved in the archive. |
Can external examiners give feedback on work?external assessor, feedbackpeb In ATLAS an external examiner can be given permission to access a workspace and give feedback on work submitted to the workspace without having to have a Pebble+ account. |
Can I access/sync the assets from my PebblePad account to the app?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assetspeb PebblePocket is not designed to support two-way synchronisation with your main account. The app's main purpose is to quickly create new assets on the go and send them to your Pebble+ asset store whenever you need to. |
Can I add extensions to just one student without affecting the whole workspace?extensions, deadlinespeb YES! Extensions are applied to individuals rather than the workspace or assignment as a whole. You can select the student(s) who need an extension and nominate the number of days the extension is for. This number will then be added to all the workspace deadlines for the selected student(s). |
Can I arrange elements side-by-side in a template?template; hintspeb Only hint blocks can be arranged side-by-side in a template or workbook page. This can be done via drag and drop. Just select the hint block that you want to move (click on it until it becomes active) and move it to the required position beside another hint block. When you see the blue indicator line you can drop it into place.
Other template element types cannot be arranged side-by-side. |
Can I change the default templates that appear under "PebblePad templates" for all users?default templatespeb YES! If you have sufficient Administrator permissions you can remove any of the default templates and add different templates to appear under ‘PebblePad templates’ in Resources or accessed from the homepage via the Work on... Custom resources panel. These changes will apply to all users in the installation. To make changes you need to go to the Burger menu in Pebble+, choose Additional Settings > Administration, and go to Default Forms under the Settings tab. |
Can I change the email associated with my personal account?personal account, email, username, email addresspeb Currently there is no built in functionality to change the email associated with a personal account. However if you send our support team (support@pebblepad.co.uk) the following information we would be happy to change it for you: Username Current email New email |
Can I change the font style and size in Pebble+?font, text sizepeb YES! When you are creating assets in Pebble+ you can change the font style and size that you are writing in by selecting the text that you want to change so that the formatting toolbar appears. Clicking on the Font option will provide a choice of 5 typefaces, while the Size option will allow you to choose from 5 font sizes. |
Can I complete a workbook on my tablet or phone?tablet, workbook, phonepeb YES! PebblePad v5 will work on any desktop or mobile device using a web browser |
Can I connect my PebblePad Asset Store to other file stores?Google Drive, File stores, One Drive, Mozilla Backpack, Credly, Dropbox, store, filespeb YES! You can connect your Pebble+ to other files stores such as Google Drive, One Drive and One Drive for Business, Dropbox, Mozilla Backpack and Credly. Once connected you will see an option for the linked external service in your Store. When you click on this all the items in your linked file store will be listed. You can link to these items or add media items to assets without having to upload them into Pebble+. To connect to one of these file stores go to the Burger menu and choose Additional Settings > External services. |
Can I create folders in Pebble+?folders, tags, deletedpeb No. Instead of folders Pebble+ uses tags to organise work. The benefit of tags is that you can add multiple tags to any asset or resource. If you had folders you would have to choose which folder to put each asset into and you could only put an asset in multiple folders by copying it. Tags can be used to search for and collate work. You can create collections based on tags and these can even be made ''dynamic'' which means that any new assets given the particular tag are automatically added to the existing collection. To learn more about organising assets in PebblePad go to the Learning Centre in Pebble+ and choose Organising. Your Store does contain a Deleted folder. Any assets or resources that you delete go automatically into the Deleted folder. From here you can restore them or purge them. Purging removes them from the system completely and they cannot be retrieved. The Deleted folder can contain 50 items - if more are added the earliest items are automatically purged. |
Can I create my own action plans?action plan, template, template builder, peb YES! There are two Action Plan templates that come with Pebble+ under PebblePad templates in Resources. You can use these to develop action plans for any activity. If you don''t like the elements (or questions) in the default action plans or you need to include some additional or different ones, you can use the Template Builder to create your own Action Plan template(s). You can either start from scratch using the Template Builder (accessed from the Burger menu under Get creative) or you can copy the default Action Plan or Smart Action Plan (find it under PebblePad templates in your Resource Store, select it by clicking on the icon and then go to I want to... > Copy) and edit it to make the changes you want to make. |
Can I customise my Pebble+ account?customise, profilepeb You can add a profile picture in your Pebble+ account by hovering the mouse over your name on the Homepage and clicking Edit. At present it is not possible to remove or reposition the panels on the homepage. You can create your own banners for your Pebble+ assets.
Using the Template Builder you can create templates of any kind (like the ones in ''PebblePad templates''). You can also create your own workbooks using the Workbook Builder. |
Can I export data from PebblePad?Exportpeb YES! Individual users can export their assets from Pebble+ using the I want to > Print option from within the open asset. Assets will be exported to PDF.
Within ATLAS, workspace managers can export as CSV any of the reports they generate from submitted work. |
Can I print my assets in case someone wants a paper copy?Printing, PDFpeb YES! Any asset can be printed by opening the asset and clicking on I want to... Print. The asset will be turned into a PDF and you have the option to also print linked PebblePad assets, comments, and feedback. |
Can I share my work with someone who does not have a PebblePad account?sharing, external contactpeb Yes, you can share your work with someone who does not have a PebblePad account. This can be done in one of two ways:
1. Add the person as an External Contact. External Contacts are non PebblePad users, who you can share your work with. This can be achieved by creating them a ''view only'' account. The system will generate a username and password and send these details to the email address you have provided. They can then login and view the assets you have shared. When you choose ''I want to... Share... with people'' you will have the option to add a non-PebblePad user. You will just need their name and an email address. You can then share with them in the normal way and they will receive an email with a link to the asset you have shared and a second email with a username and password to use to access the asset.
2. You can share any asset to the Web and receive a URL that you can then share with others. Anyone who has the URL can click on it and view the particular asset that you have published. |
Can I submit my work after the deadline has passed?submission, deadlinepeb No. Once the submission deadline for the workspace or assignment has passed you can no longer submit work. You will need to contact your tutor or lecturer to request an extension. If an extension is approved you will be able to submit your work to the workspace.
REMEMBER: You only need to submit your work ONCE. If you have submitted before the submission deadline you can continue to make changes to your work in Pebble+ and these changes will be visible on the workspace automatically (you don''t have to submit again each time you make changes). Your work on the workspace will continue to reflect any changes you make until the revision deadline passes. |
Can I use PebblePad on my Smartphone/Tablet computer?smartphone, tablet, mobile, phonepeb YES. You can login to Pebble+ using the browser of any smartphone or tablet device. Pebble+ will look the same on any device that you are using.
ATLAS will also open as normal on any device with a browser. |
Can I work offline?offline, pebblepocket, apppeb No. PebblePad is a fully online system and requires an active internet connection at all times in order for you to save your work.
There is an app, PebblePocket, which allows you to create simple reflections or capture images and video while you are offline. When you are online again these assets can be sent to your PebblePad account. |
Can others view comments or feedback on my work?Comments, Feedbackpeb This depends on how your work is shared and who will be viewing it. Feedback and comments also work a little differently. Feedback is part of a formal assessment process and can only be added via an ATLAS workspace. When you share work with people or to the web, existing feedback is not visible.
Comments can be added to your work by people that you share with (if you provide comment permissions) and people who view your work via an ATLAS workspace. These comments will be visible if you share with people or to the web. If you wish for these comments to not be visible, then first take a copy of the asset and share the copied asset.
Comments and feedback will be visible to any assessors who look at your work in ATLAS. |
Can PebblePad be customised depending on the institutional needs?customisation, institution, customisepeb Some aspects of PebblePad can be customised by the Institution. Custom banners can be created and added to the default banners that are available for all assets. Institutions can choose to add default Tags that can be accessed by all users.
The structure of ATLAS, the Institution assessment space, is determined by the Institution ATLAS administrators.
Some institutions may fund specific customisation that requires development. Some installations have purpose built entry wizards, some have bespoke interfaces and others link to specialist software within the institution. Please contact us for more details on the customisation options available. |
Can we deliver content (elearning) using PebblePad?eLearning, content delivery, workbookpeb YES! PebblePad includes a variety of tools designed to support the delivery of content or elearning. ATLAS, the Active Teaching, Learning and Assessment space, contains Workspaces which are typically set up for each unit of study. Workspace pages include an information or About page (which can be a portfolio or page), a Submissions page where student work is viewed, a Resource page where content and activities are made available to workspace members, and a Conversations page for forums and discussions. Portfolios can be created to deliver content and templates, and workbooks are ideal for the delivery of interactive content as they can include both information sections and sections to be completed by the user. The advantage of workbooks is that students retain a copy of the course content that includes their own reflections and responses. |
Do I have to have a PebblePad account in order to use the app?pebblepocket, app, mobile, account, assets, peb Yes, as the app works hand in hand with your PebblePad account. Without having an account the assets cannot be transferred to Pebble+, which allows you to share and print the assets you have created via the app. Please note that the app only allows assets to be sent to an active Pebble+ account. |
How can I link my multiple PebblePad accounts together?linking accounts, linkpeb Many PebblePad users move into professions that also use PebblePad to support continuing professional development (CPD) or move to a different university that also uses PebblePad. In these cases the users might have two or more PebblePad accounts, for example, an alumni account from their first university, an account from their professional body, and an account from their new university. It is possible to have your PebblePad accounts linked together so that all the assets are available from a single account* or, if you need to use multiple accounts, so that the assets are available in whichever account you are working in.
To link accounts, log in to the account that you want to link to (this would be your secondary account – the one that you use least). Go to the Burger Menu > Additional Settings > External Services.
Select the Link PebblePad accounts option. You will find instructions on this page for linking accounts.
*Note that this functionality currently only applies to Assets. Resources cannot yet be accessed via linked accounts. |
How can I track progress on a workbook?workbook, progress tracker, peb A workbook author has the ability to choose pages in a workbook to be tracked. The workbook properties panel has an option to ''enable progress tracking on this workbook''. If this is selected, each workbook page properties includes the option to ''disable progress tracking on this page''.
If progress tracking is turned on, the User can mark each page as complete or incomplete. A summary of the User''s progress for all pages of the workbook is available via a View progress button on the asset. This information can be accessed by the User and by an assessor when viewed in ATLAS.
When a workbook with at least one page marked as ''complete'' is submitted to a workspace, an additional column will appear on the Submission page which identifies the percentage of completion for each submission. |
How do I add a document (pdf, word, excel) to my workbook as evidence?Evidence
PDF
peb The first step is to upload your document to your Asset store. Select the Upload option on the Pebble+ homepage or in the burger menu and drag and drop your doc across or select it from your File Manager.
You can then add the doc to your workbook by hyperlinking it to text in a text field or by adding it to an Add Evidence block (if provided).
Documents cannot be displayed within a media block and you cannot add the doc as a page to your workbook. |
How do I copy and paste in Pebble+?Copy, Pastepeb To copy and paste in Pebble+ you need to use the following shortcut keys:
If using a PC - Ctrl-C (for copy) and Ctrl-V (for paste)
If using a Mac - Command-C (for copy) and Command-V (for paste) |
How do I see who I have shared an asset with?Share, Info Panelpeb If an asset has been shared you will see an icon in the Shared with other users column in the Asset Store. The icon will identify how many times you have shared the item. To see who it has been shared with you can click on this icon or on the info icon to the far right of the asset in your Asset Store which will open the Info Panel for the asset. This contains information about all shares and you can edit or remove the shares from here. You can also open the asset and click on the info icon at the top right side of the asset to open the Info Panel. |
How does PebblePad fit with other technologies at my institution?Integration; VLE; LMS; TurnItInpeb PebblePad can integrate with all leading virtual learning environments (VLE/LMS), management information, and user management systems. PebblePad can also be integrated with your institutional TurnItIn account. We support standards based approaches to integration and are always keen to hear about what technologies our customers want us to integrate with. |
How does reporting work in PebblePad?Reports, Statisticspeb Reporting in PebblePad occurs in both Pebble+ and in ATLAS.
1. Pebble+
Administrators have access to a variety of global statistics in Pebble+. These are installation reports on things like number of users, number of logins, files space usage, asset usage, and file type usage. These are aggregate statistics across the whole installation and cannot be used to report on individuals.
2. ATLAS
More detailed reporting is available on submitted work in ATLAS workspaces. Reports can be generated for submitted templates and workbooks, feedback templates used by assessors, an export of grades added to work, and a report of workspace members who have not yet submitted. The template and workbook reports include summaries of answers on each element and evidence added. |
How many eportfolios can I create?eportfoliopeb As many as you like! An eportfolio is a type of asset in Pebble+ - a presentation of evidence of things you have done or achieved. This might be in the form of a portfolio, or an activity log, or even a CV. In Pebble+ you can create as many of each of these (and lots of other types of assets) as you want or need. This means that you can create different eportfolios for different purposes and different audiences. |
I am trying to upload a file to my Pebble+ but it is not working. Why?Uploadpeb The most common cause for file uploads not working is very large files being uploaded on a slow internet connection. While there is no file upload limit the server connection will time-out if the upload takes too long. This will result in the upload not being successfully completed. Things to try include reducing the file size by compressing images or editing videos, and trying the upload on a different connection, perhaps at your institution or place of work. |
I cannot log into my PebblePad account. How do I fix this?peb Make sure that you are using the correct username and password. If you have forgotten your password click on the link below the login form to receive a new one. Check the URL to confirm that you are trying to log into the correct installation of PebblePad.
If you are still experiencing difficulties, contact the IT support at your institution.
|
I created a Personal PebblePad Account before I graduated, however the assets from my institutional account were not transferred over?peb Your asset store should show with an additional tab which will hold your old university assets. If you are unable to see the additional store or if this is empty please contact:- support@pebblepad.co.uk |
I do not have a title ready for my asset. Is it okay to save my asset without a title?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assets, title, default, post, reflection, experience, photo, videopeb If you are working in PebblePad, you are required to give assets a title when saving them. If an action triggers an automatic Save, such as previewing the asset, you will be prompted to provide a title.
In the app, PebblePocket, assets without titles are saved with a default title. The asset will keep the same default title when you send it to your Pebble+ asset store. Please see the following default titles for the asset types available on the app:
• New Post • New Reflection • New Experience • New Photo • New Video |
I have a Personal Account. Can I use the app?pebblepocket, app, mobile, personal account, classicpeb Yes, you can use the app to create and send assets. |

I have a valid PebblePad account but I can’t find my university or organisation on the list of institutions for the app.pebblepocket, app, mobile, account, login, logging in, log in, university, listpeb Certain universities/organisations do not appear in the list of available institutions because the account authentication process they have in place is not compatible with our app. Please contact your university or organisation’s IT department for more information. |
I have a Windows/Blackberry device (phone or tablet). Can I download the app?pebblepocket, app, blackberry, windows, mobilepeb Unfortunately, the app is not available for Windows/Blackberry devices. We have decided to do the initial launch of the app on the most commonly used platforms. However, we will continue to monitor the demand of the app across other platforms. |
I have entered my PebblePad login details and the app is saying it has been denied access to my PebblePad account.pebblepocket, app, mobile, logging in, log in, login, access, denied, classic, pebble+, personal, dormant, deleted, expiredpeb The app needs access to a valid PebblePad account in order to send your assets. If your account is any of the following account types, you will not be able to use the app:
• Pebble Classic (Internal and External) • If your account has expired • If your account has been marked as dormant or for deletion marked for deletion • If you have an External account (i.e. for assessing learner work only)
Please contact the PebblePad administrator at your university or organisation for further assistance. |
I have forgotten the username/password for my PebblePad University/organisational accountpeb In most cases you should click on the "Forgotten your username or your password" link under the login form. If you have forgotten your username, entering your email address will generate an email including your username. If you have forgotten your password, entering your username will generate an email with a link to allow you to reset your password.
Any accounts that have been created through a link to an institution''s active directory will have to have the password changed by the institution in question. These passwords are not set in the PebblePad software and we are unable to change them. PebblePad Administrators within your university or institution will be able to confirm your username. |
I have logged into the wrong account on my app. How can I change it to the account I want?pebblepocket, app, mobile, account, login, logging in, log in, settingspeb You can logout of your account by selecting the ‘Account information’ option under Settings area of the app. Should you wish to remove any assets stored on your device, tick the remove assets checkbox before tapping the ‘logout’ button. Once you’re logged out, you will be able to login with another account. |
I have mistakenly deleted the asset(s) on my device. How do I get them back?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assets, delete, restorepeb If you are using the app, unfortunately it’s not possible to restore your deleted assets as they were saved on your device and not on our database/server.
If you were not using the app, but were logged into PebblePad and using it via a web browser, deleted assets will appear in the Deleted tab of your Store. |
I have two PebblePad accounts at different organisations - can I combine or link these?Pebble+; linking accountspeb YES! You can link two or more PebblePad accounts, provided they are within the same region, for example, UK, Australia, or US. You cannot currently link accounts between these regions. Please contact PebblePad Support with details of your accounts and a request to have the accounts linked. |
I received a warning message about my file exceeding the single file upload limit. What is my limit then?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assets, upload, file size, max, maximumpeb The single file upload limit is set by your institution. Please contact the IT department of your university or organisation for further assistance. Alternatively, try to send a smaller file size. |
I received a warning message telling me that my quota information could not be retrieved and the app could not send my asset(s). What does that mean?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assets, account, network, wifipeb This means that we are unable to read your account information in order to do the necessary checks to send the asset(s) to your Pebble+ asset store. Please try connecting to a better wifi/mobile network or logout and log back into your account before trying again. |
I rely on a screen-reader (and other assistive technologies). Can I use PebblePad?Assistive technology; Screen reader, HTML, Accessiblepeb YES! PebblePad supports the latest versions of both Jaws and NVDA screen readers.
There is a tipsheet available that provides guidance on using a screenreader with PebblePad. |
I want to change my password.peb In most cases you should click on the click on the "Change your password" link under the login form. You will be asked to enter your old password and confirm your new password. The next time you log in you can use your new password. Be sure to make it something you will easily remember and something which is secure eg includes numbers as well as letters.
if you login to PebblePad using your institution username and password then you are unable to change just your PebblePad password. |
I want to create assets via the app and send them to an existing Blog or Activity Log in my PebblePad account. Is there any way of doing this?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assets, blog, website, activity logpeb Not at the moment, but this functionality will become available in the near future. |
I want to share my portfolio but I want to keep some elements private. Can I do this?Sharing, Privacy, sharepeb YES! In fact, you never share your whole Pebble+ with anyone. Instead you choose the asset(s) that you want to share and who you want to share them with. You can even control how long others have access to your shares and what they can do with them, eg. view only, comment, copy, or collaborate. Everything else in your Pebble+ stays completely private and only you have access.
If you have a portfolio asset that you want some people to see only part of, make copy of the portfolio and remove the content you don''t wish to share. You can have many different versions of a portfolio in your asset store, each one tailored to a specific audience. |
I want to share some of my work - what are my options?Share, Publishpeb There are two main ways to make your work available to others - sharing with people and sharing with the web.
1. Sharing with people
Sharing occurs via the PebblePad system and all shared work remains password protected. You can share with others within your organisation who have a Pebble+ account and they will receive your share in their Asset Store. You can also share with others who don''t use PebblePad at all. They will receive an email with a link to your work and a username and password to use when accessing it.
2. Sharing with the web
You can also publish any of your assets to the Web, generating a URL that you can add to things like an email, a document or a website. When you share an asset with the web you have the option to Hide from search engines. This means your asset cannot be found by search engines unless you add the URL to a publicly accessible web page. If you don''t choose this option, sharing with the web adds the URL to a publicly accessible web page where it can be found by a search engine. |
I want to upload some video to PebblePad. Are there any file size limitations I should know about?peb Unless there is a specific limit on file sizes set by the institution there is no limit on the size of files you can upload to the server, although the size of the file you can upload depends on your connection speed. The server opens a connection for a fixed period of time and so the size of the file you can upload depends on amount of data you are able to transfer in that time.
One thing to remember when putting large files into your account is the kind of connection that the person viewing any shared files/assets might have. If they have a slow connection speed then viewing large files will inevitably take longer than smaller ones.
|
I was sending my assets to PebblePad and I received a message saying it could not be sent. What is happening?pebblepocket, app, mobile, assets, failed, sending, connection, logged inpeb There could be different factors that may affect the sending of your asset. If your assets failed to send, please try to send the assets again or try sending them individually and make sure that you have a strong internet connection when doing so. You should also make sure that you are still logged in. |
I was trying to login to my PebblePad account from the app but I am getting an “Unknown Username or Password” error. What should I do?pebblepocket, app, mobile, logging in, log in, institution, organisation, username, passwordpeb Please make sure you are choosing the correct institution from the available list and entering the correct login details. If the problem continues, please contact the IT department of your university or institution. |
If I add an external examiner to multiple workspaces do they get multiple accounts?External examiner, Accountspeb No. An external examiner is added to ATLAS and assigned a username and password. This examiner can then be added to multiple workspaces and can login to any of them using the one account. It is only if different details are used for the external examiner, for example a different email address, that a second account would be created. |
If I add an external examiner to multiple workspaces do they get multiple accounts?peb No. An external examiner is added to ATLAS and assigned a username and password. This examiner can then be added to multiple workspaces and can login to any of them using the one account. It is only if different details are used for the external examiner, for example a different email address, that a second account would be created. |
If I delete a section out of a workbook and the users have already completed it, does it still remove the section from the users' workbooks?Workbookpeb YES! The original workbook and the users' workbooks (even after they have started completing them) are linked and identical. Any changes you make to the original will be replicated in the users' versions. This has the benefit of enabling you to fix small errors and drip feed elements and/or pages over time. However, it does mean that anything you remove will also be removed from the users' workbooks.
If you need to start making changes to the workbook for the next cohort of students you need to COPY the original and make the changes to the copy. This will then not impact on the original or the students who are using the original. It is a good idea to get some naming conventions worked out so that you can keep track of the various versions of your workbooks. |
I''m a PebblePad Personal user and I''ve forgotten the username/password for my account.peb We can confirm your username when you contact us at support@pebblepad.co.uk from the email address you used to register your PebblePad account with. You can reset your password from the ''Forgotten your password?'' link on the login page. |
Is there an App for PebblePad?App, Mobile, Tablet, PebblePocketpeb YES! You can download the PebblePocket app for your mobile. You can now create assets on the go and upload them to your PebblePad account when you want to. |
Is work I share for assessment to ATLAS private?ATLAS, workspacepeb When you share work to an ATLAS workspace you are typically making your work available to be viewed for feedback or assessment. Exactly who will have access to your work depends upon the permissions set by the manager of the workspace. If the activity and the assessment process requires it, the manager might allow one or more lecturers, tutors, and/or external examiners to view and/or assess your work. If the activity is a peer review one, the manager might allow other students to view your work so that they can provide feedback. Your lecturer or tutor should explain to you, as part of the teaching activity, who will be viewing your work in ATLAS and what they will be doing with it. |
My account will close when I leave the organisation. What should I do with my saved work?peb 1. Open a Personal PebblePad Account - If you are a graduate you are entitled to a free Personal Pebble+ account. You need to create this account from within your institution Pebble+ account (Burger menu > Additional settings > Free alumni account) before you lose your institution login permissions. All existing assets will appear in the Asset Store of your new Personal PebblePad Account. Alternatively, you can choose to export your work (see below).
Further information and a downloadable tipsheet are available at https://community.pebblepad.co.uk/support/solutions/articles/13000033784-alumni-account-creation-in-v5
If you are a member of a professional organisation you can also create a Personal PebblePad Account for a small annual fee.
2. Export your assets - If you don''t want to open a personal account you can export some or all of your work. Assets created in Pebble+ will be saved as PDF files.
|
My device is jailbroken or rooted. Will I be able to download and use the app?pebblepocket, app, mobile, jailbreak, rooted, downloadpeb Yes, you can. The app should work fine as long as the operating system of the device you’re using is compatible with our app to run. |
We use competency/assessment rubrics - can PebblePad support this?Rubrics, Feedback templates, Feedback statementspeb YES! ATLAS, the Active Teaching, Learning and Assessment Space, provides a variety of tools to support assessment and feedback. Feedback templates, containing rubrics, can be created using the Pebble+ Template Builder, and added to an ATLAS workspace. All assessors on the workspace can then use this template when providing feedback on submitted work. Workspaces also support Feedback Statements, a collection of feedback comments that can be selected from and added to submitted work. Competency/assessment statements can be added to these collections so that all assessors can select from the same list. |
What are the best formats of multimedia to upload?Video format, Audio, multimedia, imagepeb Most video and audio formats can be uploaded into Pebble+. We strongly recommend MP4, MP3 and JPEG. Please check browser compatibility for file formats.

What is the difference between an Asset and a Resource?Asset, Resourcepeb Assets are things that you upload or create in Pebble+. You can upload any type of digital file using the Upload new option. All uploaded files are Assets and can be found in your Asset Store. You can also create things in Pebble+ from Get creative (on the homepage or from the Burger menu), or by using templates or workbooks from the Resource store. When you Save any of these things they become Assets in your Asset Store. Assets contain personal content - content that you have added, that is meaningful to you, and that you can go back and edit or delete as required.
Resources are things that you use to create Assets. Resources are located in the Resource store, or from the Work on ... Custom resources panel on the homepage. These include banners templates and workbooks that you use to create assets. Resources don''t have any of your personal content in them - they are empty forms or workbooks waiting to be completed by you. Resources include PebblePad templates that come with the system, templates and workbooks that others make available for you to use, and templates and workbooks that you have created yourself to use. Each time you use a resource and Save it, it becomes an Asset in your Asset Store. You can then go to the Asset in your Asset Store and edit it as required. The original resource will still exist in your Resource Centre and if you use it again, it will create a second Asset in your Asset Store. |
What is the difference between PebblePad, Pebble+ and ATLAS?PebblePad, Pebble+, ATLASpeb PebblePad is a Personal Learning and Assessment System. As a system it contains two main components (more are being developed).
The first component is Pebble+ and it is the Personal Learning Space. In Pebble+ you will find tools to help you create rich records of your learning, experience and achievement. Everything you create in Pebble+ is private unless you choose to share it with others.
The second component is ATLAS and it is the institutional assessment space. Often people are asked to create items in Pebble+ specifically for assessment or validation by others. These assets are normally submitted to Workspaces within ATLAS so that teachers and assessors can view them and add feedback, grades, approvals, etc. ATLAS is designed specifically to support rich, iterative and conversational styles of assessment and feedback. Workspaces can also be used to provide access to resources, online discussions, and other information relevant to the learning activities. |
What types of assessment does PebblePad support?assessmentpeb PebblePad is used extensively for both individual and group assessment. Both files uploaded into PebblePad and work created within PebblePad can be assessed in the Institution Active Teaching, Learning and Assessment space, ATLAS.

Feedback templates, comment banks, approval statements and the creation of tutor groups all help to facilitate the assessment process. |

The workspace Conversations page might be used as a place where you can ask questions or participate in class discussions.

Why am I unable to share my work for assessment to a workspace?Submitting, Workspacepeb If you are unable to share for assessment to a workspace or assignment there will be a red cross showing next to the workspace or assignment in the share panel. There are a number of reasons why you might be unable to submit:
1. You have already submitted the work once - any asset can only be submitted once to a workspace. Once submitted, a live link is established between the workspace and the asset in your Asset Store. This live link means that any changes you make to the asset are visible on the workspace without having to submit again.
2. You are trying to submit the wrong asset type - a workspace can be set to only accept particular asset types. If it has been set to accept workbooks and you are trying to submit a webfolio you will be unable to submit. The share panel will contain information about the accepted asset types if restrictions apply.
3. You have already submitted the maximum number of permitted submissions - a workspace can be set to only accept a certain number of submissions per member. If it has been set to accept 2 submissions per member and you are trying to submit a third piece of work you will be unable to submit. The share panel will contain information about the number of permitted submissions.
4. The submission deadline has passed - deadlines can be set for a workspace and if the submission deadline has passed you will be unable to submit. The share panel will contain information about important dates and will indicate if the deadline has passed.
In any of the above apply you may need to contact your tutor or lecturer. |
Why are updates to an asset not showing in a workspace?Asset ID,peb Updates to submissions will not be visible on a workspace if (a) the workspace is paused, or (b) the revision deadline for the workspace has passed.
