Templates
What is a template?
A template in PebblePad is like a single page empty form. It can contain a combination of content for you to read, watch or listen to, and interactive items for you to add responses to. It may be short and only require you to fill in one or two things, or it could be quite long and have multiple activities for you to complete.
Templates are designed to provide some structure for the way you record information. Rather than starting with a blank page, a template provides a series of prompts to help you to understand the type of information that is required.
Using templates
You typically access templates from the Start working on ... panel on your Pebble+ Home page or from the Resources in your Store. Templates are called Resources because you use them to create Assets.
When you click on the title of a template it opens in response mode. This allows you to read the content and add responses to questions as required. When you Save your response it becomes an Asset in your Asset Store. You can go back to the Asset as many times as you want and continue to edit it and add further information.
See Using templates for more detail on accessing, completing and saving templates.
Types of templates
There are two main types of single page templates - PebblePad Templates and Custom Templates.
PebblePad Templates are ones that come with the system and everyone who has a Pebble+ account has access to the same PebblePad Templates.
Custom Templates are ones that have been created specifically for the learning activities you are involved in. They are usually created for you by someone else, like an educator or supervisor, but you can also create them for yourself.
See the PebblePad Templates and Custom Templates sections for more details about each.
Workbooks
Workbooks are binders that contain multiple template pages. So, while a template is single-page, a workbook is multi-page and many of the pages will be made up of templates. Workbooks can also contain holders for Pebble+ presentation Assets like Pages, Activity Logs, Collections, and Blogs. Workbooks are often used to facilitate a series of activities or an activity that runs over a longer timeframe, like a work placement.
See the Workbook section for details about how to access, use and build Workbooks.
