Pause, Play & Stop
As well as having pre-set deadlines, an assignment can always be paused, played or stopped manually.
A pause button appears at the top right corner of the submissions page; you can pause and play the workspace or individual assignments from here. If the workspace has multiple assignments, pause, play and stop buttons are also available in the Action menu on the assignments page. If you have the relevant manager permissions, you will also see a restore option when an assignment is stopped. You must understand the functionality associated with each of these options.
Symbol | Status | Description |
 | Pause | An assignment can be paused at any time. Pausing an assignment takes a snapshot of the submitted work at the time of pausing. While paused, any updates to the work will not be reflected on the workspace. Pausing an assignment has no impact on submitted work as it exists in the User's Pebble+ account. Users can continue to edit their work but changes will not be visible on the workspace as long as it is paused. When the assignment is 'played', the snapshot associated with the pause is date and time stamped and listed in a drop-down menu at the top of the submissions page. You can view a pause snapshot at any time by selecting it from the list. When an assignment is 'played', the submissions are updated to their most recent version. Any assets submitted while the assignment was paused will become visible on the workspace. |
 | Play | Play mode is the 'normal' status of an assignment when activities are underway. While in play mode assets can be submitted to the assignment and will be immediately visible. Any changes made to submitted assets will also be visible on the workspace as soon as the asset is saved. |
 | Stop | An assignment should only be stopped once all the activity and assessment processes are fully completed. Stopping an assignment is the equivalent of archiving it and no further editing of the work or associated feedback is possible. Assignments can be stopped independently as required and the whole workspace can be archived once all the assignments have been completed. |
 | Restore | When an assignment is stopped the button will change to a Restore (unarchive) button IF you have the necessary Manager permissions. Unarchive assignment and Unarchive workspace permissions can be allocated to any workspace manager - these are turned off by default. When an assignment is unarchived, any existing revision deadlines (past or future) will be respected and restored. If there are no existing revision deadlines, the assignment will automatically be allocated a revision deadline of the date and time of the archive. This can then be edited or removed if required. |
